Because of the extensive involvement of our teachers in the Alabama Reading Initiative over the last several years, Taylorville Primary is proud to have been names a Literacy Demonstration Site through the Alabama Reading Initiative. Our goal through the ARI is to help Taylorville students become as literate and well read as they are capable of being with no child falling between the cracks. Children who come from homes where they are surrounded by printed material ususally do better than children who do not come from such environments. Anyone who finds reading difficult is handicapped in the struggle for a successful place in the world. Help us to help your child understand that literature and the abilty to read fluently opens many doors to discovery and provides endless hours of adventure, enjoyment, and learning.
